What Can I Trade in My Oculus Quest 2 For?
The price you can exchange for your Oculus varies on the condition it’s in. For an Oculus that is in good condition, you can get $193.00 for the 128GB version. For the 64GB Oculus, you will get around $148.
If there is damage to your Oculus device, you should expect a much lower trade-in price. For an Oculus that has some physical damage on it but still works, you should have a cash exchange of $50.
This all depends on where you’re trading it in. Bigger cooperations and stores will give you a lower price point for your headset since they make the process much easier.
With marketplaces and pawn shops, you should expect to receive a little more for it.
Does Gamestop Buy Oculus Quest 2?
Unfortunately, you can’t trade in your Oculus at GameStop as they do not offer a trade-in service for such devices.
No one knows why GameStop doesn’t offer such a service for Oculus devices specifically, but they do allow it for electronic devices like phones and controllers
Places similar to Gamestop also do not do trade-ins for Oculus devices only other electronic devices. This may be because Oculus may not be as easy to sell as things like consoles.
Where Can I Trade in My Oculus?
The best place you can trade in your Oculus is at marketplaces like eBay Amazon and Facebook Marketplace.
With these marketplaces, you can put up your device too much what other devices are priced at on the marketplace or offer a lower price to get it sold quicker.
If you don’t want to sell it online, you can trade it in at your local pawn shop. Other local services can be found by doing a quick Google search with your location.
Amazon’s Trade-in Programme
You can go through Amazon’s trade-in program where you’re able to trade in your Oculus on the Amazon marketplace for a certain price and people will be able to buy it.
To start, click the link above, click on the Trade-in cell phone and video games > Gaming section > Accessory > Virtual Reality > type in “Oculus” in the search bar under the “Search Virtual Reality” header, now select the model you have.
It wouldn’t be under the console heading where you might think it is.
At the top range, you can expect to exchange a Meta Quest 2 for $120. For an Oculus Rift, you will receive $92 at the top range. You will only receive a gift card in exchange rather than getting cash for it.
The reason the price point for both devices is as low as it is is because of how easy Amazon makes the trade-in process.

Best Buy Trade-in Service
Best Buy has a trade-in program for electronics, which will include things like Meta Quest. To initiate a trade-in, you will have to bring your device to your nearest Best Buy store with all its components and speak to a customer support representative.
From here, they will propose a price to you and it will be up to you whether or not you accept it.
Once you accept this offer, you will receive a gift card that will allow you to purchase anything in Best Buy worth that amount.
If you don’t want to go into the store, you can choose to do this online. Note that you will be asked questions about the device which you will have to answer if you want to sell it. This will give them a better idea of what price point they can offer you.
Once you accept the offer, you will need to print out a shipping label and post it on your device. Once it is processed by Best Buy, they will give you the gift card.
How Does The Trade in Value Vary?
The price you will get for your Oculus will depend on a multitude of factors such as the model you are currently trying to trade in.
Other things like its condition, accessories, and age will also come into consideration. Below are a few reasons why prices might vary and what prices you can expect from each factor.
The Condition
By condition, I mean, how well you have preserved the device. If there is any damage to the headset then this will drastically reduce the trade-in price.
If it is in preteen condition, you can expect close to the top range in terms of exchange price.
If there is damage, like broken compartments but it still works fundamentally, you should expect a price point below $100. Close to $50.
If you go the Amazon route, you will get $15 due to the unlikeness of it getting sold.
Accessories
If you have all the accessories your Oculus came with then you will get more when you hand it in. This is because the accessories are with more since they won’t have to be purchased separately by the buyer.

What Should I Do Before I Trade in My Oculus?
There are a few things you will need to do before you can trade it in. This is to make sure that it is ready for the buyer and the store to process it. If you are doing an online trade then you will be given instructions on what you can trade it in for. This will be things like printing out a label.
If you are going to your local store you will need to prepare so they can accept it there and then.
Factory Reset the Oculus
Before trading, you will need to factory reset your Oculus Quest to remove your account information and any other downloaded confidential information.
The reason you will want to do this is so that the next buyer doesn’t have access to any of your personal information.
You can perform a factory reset either using the app or doing it from your headset. I will explain how to do so via the headset.

- Hold the power and volume down buttons at the same time until the boot screen appears
- Select Factory Reset with your headset’s volume controls
- Click the power button
This whole process should take under a minute. From there you will be ready to go. Bear in mind that once you have performed a factory reset, all information on your headset will be lost.
So if you don’t end up trading it in, you will have lost all of your information. So only do this right before you’re doing the trade-in.
Place All Accessories in the Box
You will then want to place all the components into the box including the charging cable and controllers if you have them. Make sure they are as clean as they were when you purchased them.

Trading in your used Oculus Quest 2 can net you anywhere from $100 to $250+ depending on condition and where you trade it.
Online marketplaces such as eBay allow you to place your Oculus at the price point you want, however this doesn’t mean that others will buy, it needs to be at a realistic price point.
Make sure to factory reset the Quest 2 and include all original accessories to maximize the resale value. Your best bet would be to go into your local trade-in store and ask them what the best price for it will be. Pawn shops work just as well too.
